Ordet Tiqqun är den franska transkriptionen av hebreiskans Tikkun olam, ofta använt inom kabbala och andra messianska traditioner. Innebörden är en form av upprättelse, återställande och försoning. Gruppen förklarar själva i 'Vad är kritisk metafysik?' (i första numret): "Tiqqun är frälsningens process, förlossningen som kommer med ett återuppbyggande av meningens enhet med livet, med alla tings upprättelse genom människors handlande."
(OSÄKRA) SPÅR: Efter att andra numret kommit ut under hösten 2001 splittrades gruppen. Det tycks ha bottnat i flera olika anledningar, bland annat hur de skulle förhålla sig till 11 septemberattacken, hur "teorierna" skulle/kunde omsättas i verkligheten, hur innehållet kunde göras relevant för vänner snarare än akademiker. Den större delen av gruppen flyttade ut till den franska landsbygden och formade där ett mer långvarigt kollektiv, det är denna grupp som tog namnet Osynliga kommittén och som har hållit kvar kontakten med förlaget La Fabrique. En annan grupp bildade istället konstprojektet Claire Fontaine. Det verkar som att Claire Fontaine inte accepterade Osynliga kommitténs inställning till publicering av Tiqqunmaterial, varför något tredje nummer aldrig blev av. Samma år (2001) kom istället två filmer, den ena från Osynliga kommittén med namnet And the war has only just begun, och den andra av Bernadette Corporation (kopplingen till Tiqqun är osäker) med namnet Get rid of yourself.
Cybernetikens hypotes publicerades först i Tiqqun 2 (2001), i svensk översättning 2013.
2004 spreds traktatet Appell/Call, osignerat men allmänt tillskrivet Osynliga kommittén, 2007 (på franska) publicerades Det stundande upproret, och 2014 Till våra vänner.
